Hey everyone,I hope all is well.

So,I finally managed to score a non Hot Weather body for my restored XX4,only to find the front of the body doesn't fit through the front shock tower. :?
Do I need an early one?
I have a new Graphite one on there, right now.

Got my XX4 runner lookin' good and going well.
It's running the Mamba Max and Orion 7.5 from my old B44.
I re-decaled the body,too...It hurt cutting that NIP sheet up,but was worth it.
Just need some white 5 spoke rims, now, those Rulux rims are not the go.

Yes, you need an early style front tower without the additional bracing. Having said that, I too picked up a mk1 body and it had the lines for the 'big' nose that only works with the non-braced tower, and the smaller nose that will work for the braced tower.

The heavy metal shell looks awesome, great job. I hope to get mine done at some point in the coming years

So,your early body had lines for both early and late towers?
Well, mine doesn't,looks like I need an early front shock tower, has anyone got one they're willing to part with?

Thanks,I've always loved the Heavy Metal bodies.
Funny how the box art paint got used for the Associated SC10 4X4,the SC18 and a Tamiya truck.

Yes, it had both cut lines on the nose - this may have been an option from the outset and not necessarily related to the late tower. I could try and get a pic for you later - I hope to get some 'RC' time tonight.

I have seen quite a few early towers in plastic, but none in graphite (I got lucky with mine through someone on here, might of been Cedric). You could always remove the bracing, but that would weaken the tower. Why don't you google some pics of the late shell and cut the nose out the same, or do you (like me) want to keep it in the early style?
