Anyone have one of those friends?

I know a guy, and we've had an up, and down relationship for the better part of 10 years. I met him when I moved to my home, so he's not an old friend. All my Pals from school are very different from this guy, and I did my best to make him feel welcomed. Every time we met ( every few months or so ) he has this fantastic story that never ends up anywhere. Many other things that I'm not going to get into, but here's the real question....... he's never been a "real" ladies man, but has now been involved with his friends sister, and has now proposed  .. Am I happy for him, and wish the best in life?...You bet. He dropped the bomb on me last night, and the kicker is, they have only been dating for two weeks :? . This is a nice guy, who had come into a little money, not long ago, and is not shy to say it. When I questioned this, with the "new" venture is has taken, it now looks like our relationship is on hold again. He's not had work in a year, and is pissing through the money like crazy. So as a "friend" I tried to put things in perspective, but now I'm the bad guy........... 2 weeks :? just venting is all 8)

2 weeks man, that's it. She needs to go back home, and button a few things up, then it's straight to his pad. She had just broken up with her ex, and now she is getting married. Love does work in strange ways. HMOG, I've been in love almost every weekend when I was in my teens, but never thought about getting hitched, My wife and I dated for 1, and a half years before we tied the noose, and she still drives me nuts

I'm sure he is a bit peeved because he knows what you said is probably true and it bugs the hell out of him. As far as only being together for two weeks, well good for them. Time doesn't mean anything, it's communication that counts. If they can be open and honest with each other and are committed to making a marriage work then they will be golden.

I was with my ex 5 years into our 18 years together when we married. It didn't matter as she wasn't honest with herself and in turn wasn't honest with me. In my current relationship I don't hold anything back and many times it has shocked her. My thought is that I'm not going to waste anytime being pissed about something that I bit my lip on. Get it out and get it resolved.

My wife expected that I would propose after 2 month when we were visiting Italy and Rom… I told her if anyone should propose it should be her, so six month later she did. She even had been to the jeweler and paid for our engagement rings. 3 years later we got married, and this time I paid for her wedding ring.

Now we have been married for 6 years and we are still happy. :D

Well, she passed the "Marlon" test. He brought her over today and she's a very nice loving girl 8) She let me and my buddy have 2 beer's each, while she drove him home, so that's a BIG A+ in my book. Still to soon for my liking, but I kept that under my tongue. They seem very happy, and that's what important...

HI!... This is why I stay single. I've learned over the years that most women only want two things. One is money. The other, you guys know what I'm talking about..... I stick to the four "F's".

Foolish. I dated a lot of girls I was crazy about at 2, 3 weeks. At 2-3 months, I was done.

My lady now is the same girl I had dated in high school, 16 years ago. We hooked up again in 2010; been together for 3-1/2 years now, but neither of us is in a hurry to tie the knot. Course, we got rugrats, so married or not, we're stuck with each other. lol.

Your reference to the 4 "F's"..... I thought you meant finger 1, finger 2, finger 3, finger 4.... thus, no thumb.... just like our good buddy THEYTOOKMYTHUMB....

Make any more sense now?
