Yellow and Blue RC10 B3 Build
Here we go again.... another B3. And here we go again with more anodizing color matching.
This idea started with a random score at the LHS in the form of some yellow RPM parts for the B3. The rear arm mounts are pretty hard to find these days and I had never seen them in yellow. Even though I don't care much for the motor guard, they had the yellow one so I grabbed that, too. The yellow gear cover and front bumper followed, and I had some other nice B3 pieces lying around like the complete Lunsford hinge pin and turnbuckle set for the B3. Two years ago, you could get these FT blue shock bodies easily at any LHS but the supply has gotten quite scarce. It took me a bit to source these, and along the way, I got the aluminum front brace from a forum member here. I bent over and grabbed my ankles again for the Thunder Tiger BX front hub carriers and metal trans to bulkhead brace, but I used the RPM steering knuckles, plus I wanted to keep this a bit less "heavy metal" than my blue B3 Factory Team build.
Of course I used some NIP Factory Team parts; the front kickup, rear end plate, and motor plate. There are some other odds and ends worked in, like the Hammad Ghuman rear hubs (more on those later) and the Factory team shock caps that were anodized yellow to get the contrast I wanted. There are other yellow RPM bits like the ball cups and shock spring perches. The trans spacers between the case and the motor plate are from Chris at Rogue Engineering, anodized yellow for the contrast and little detail.
The genesis of the project:
Some other parts:
Completed transmission and motor plate with spacers.
Shocks and front end.

Nice! I've wanted to try the yellow anno before but got scared it would be too light or unnoticeable. That looks great!

Re: Yellow and Blue RC10 B3 Build
Here are some completed pics.
Thanks, I do like the yellow. It's from the same batch that is feeding my Avante build and fed my WOIN build a while back.
Unfortunately I didn't look closely enough at the Hammad Ghuman rear hubs I sent in for ano and they were for an RC10, not the B3 versions. See the subtle difference on the pin spacing and the fact that the universal wouldn't reach the trans outdrive? I was really scratching my head for a while until I went back and looked at the header card of the part I sent in. Doh! So in place I have the non-anodized, correct B3 rear hubs on now until I can get them anodized yellow. The picture shows the correct B3 hub pulled from my blue FT B3 shelfer project.
I still need to get some rear shock tower wing mounts on there to get it completed.

stunning build!
didn't know there was a B3 carbon rear shocktower! Do you by chance know if there is a truck carbon rear shocktower?

I got them from Fibre Lyte, you could check out their website and see if they have versions for the truck.

That looks great. I know several Mountaineers that would approve!

Looks great Adam. You going to send it off for some custom paint?
