Who still runs old tires?

Sometimes you just don't want to update a vintage car to modern wheels but you still want to drive them. Is anyone here still running or even racing their old cars with older non 2.2 tires? What works and where can you still find them aside from the occasional ebay listing?

Wow I didn't know about those. One way to find out if they work here.

These are still being made, to my knowledge...only problem is, they're very difficult to get outside of the U.K. A bunch of us got together and did a bulk purchase from a U.K. member, who shipped them to each of us, that must've been about 3 years ago. Dirt Paw 2.0:

I run "old" tires both outside and indoor on carpet.
From Schumacher you still get the full spike and block.
When driving indoor I just cut off the spikes, like the on the Hot Trick Red Fox down this page:

Take a look here: http://www.racing-cars.com/sp/abspage/1/category/Product_Category/searchbox7/1-10_Buggy_Off_Road_Tyres/subcategory/Wheels_Tyres_and_Inserts/templateid/12.html

The ones called CAT are all the dimensions from the old CAT, Topcat etc.
Great on RC10 TQ, CE etc, Tamiya Fox, Wild One and the Hotshot based vehicles, and loads more.

GREAT tires!

FYI - Losi is no longer making tires...what is left would be old stock (from what I have been told locally). Sad day truly in my opinion :(

In my opinion it was Gil Losi Jr who was the magic behind their tires. He is a part of AKA now so in some ways the tire legacy goes on.

I've said this before but someone needs to start reproducing tires like is being done with bodies and decals. I realize that it's a far greater undertaking but I think there would be a market for it.

Unfortunately, although the prices of NOS tires can be outrageous, the price of repros is still not exactly cheap. Maybe I'm just thrifty, but the price for repro Optima tires (example) wasn't what I'd call reasonable...even less so for a runner. If you have patience, you can find lots of vintage rubber on eBay for cheap prices.

Well I figure it like this, if I have to pay an outrageous price either way, I'd rather have newly manufactured rubber. Although that is of course if you're not after 100% originality.
