Are the new associated RTR transmitters junk?

I got a new Associated B4.2 RS RTR and my boy got a new associated T4.2 RS RTR.

My boy's truck will go in reveres most of the time but not all and my buggie will not go in reveres at all.

Are these radios junk, should I look into something else? Am I doing something wrong?
I'm not new to this hobby or RTR's.

THX,
Lynn

You may need to calibrate the esc first,i think that is explained in the manual.

Many times if the trim is out or EPA knobs are turned down too far the ESC's wont go into forward/reverse.

Re-calibrating the ESC to the transmitter never hurts (unless you lose the manual)

THX!!

I went through and re calibrated the ESC as mentioned.
Now my buggie's reverse works hit and miss like my boy's does, where before it didn't work at all.

I'm not familiar with the ESC but most likely it's a "double tap" brake/reverse.

While driving along at moderate speed hit the brakes but keep them on. Does it come to a stop without going into reverse? If so just hit them again and it should go into reverse.

I've got the same b4.2 rs rtr, and I love it. You have to hold the throttle at full brake for a second or so, then release it, then push it in the brake/reverse direction again for it to go in reverse. Sometime it seems it takes more than a second of holding at full brake before releasing and reapplying for reverse to work.

My B4.1 RTR's reverse isn't that sensitive, I wonder why?

You may need to play with trims, or adjust neutral range.

There's nothing wrong with the XP2 or XP3 2.4 GHz systems, they're actually pretty decent for RTR stuff. Certainly not as good as a Futaba or Airtronics, but not bad.

Having said that, I've been quite impressed with the Flysky GT3C. Good range, lots of adjustment, 10 model memory, very lightweight, only $60 and extra receivers are a whopping $7/ea. I had issues with the GT3B model, but I own two of the Charlies, and they've been flawless.
