It is their Matt black powder coat. It is only one coat.

It's an improvement, anyway...but how durable is it? Powdercoating is supposed to be extremely tough. That does indeed look like spray paint.

Next time sand the part to be painted and use fiberstrand to fill in any imperfection then sand smooth and powdercoat it.Will look like a new chassis then. For unwanted holes that may have been drilled use it too or loctite epoxy then sand and powdercoat it.don

yep, just like any other suface finish, prep is very important. I have a powdercoating system from eastwood, probably the same thing, it works pretty well, but I have only used it a couple times, and its a learning curve.

Just be sure that what you use to fill in any imperfections will withstand the curing temps. JB Weld, most epoxies and fiberglass will not.

We use the Harbor Freight powder on occasion for our own parts because it's so cheap compared to most other powders. The matte black and red actually do cover well, but the white and yellow aren't the best.

I been using the eastwood kit for awhile now. I just use my regular gas oven 400 degrees 10 min later done. I just powder coated the fuel rail on my jeep 24K.
