I was always told if you build something over a big ole hole in the ground (cavern in this case) that you better have good insurance. Just glad it wasn't the mustang museum . (just beating someone else to that line )

What?? How can you not like a Vette? They sure did play a big role in the development of what is available today, correct?.?.

I've sat in a few, we installed a few Prochargers and a turbo kit when I was working at the hot rod shop. I prefer a car you can sit comfortably in as both a driver and a passenger, and while they handle pretty well they just aren't my cup if tea. Plus I bleed blue

oh...don't get me wrong. I would love a vette. First I'd yank the drivetrain outta it and put in a ford drivetrain...top it off with a nice blue oval to put on the hood and rear valance .

Yikes! That can't be good for 'em...

The four speed '58 I got to drive once was fun, mainly because it gave you the impression that if you didn't respect it, it would bite you in the ass. But the '82 and '84 that my neighbor had, both automatics, were booooring. Like driving a Camaro with bad visibility.

Gotta respect a car that has been around as long as a Vette, however, especially from a big company like GM. Sad to see them lose a chunk of that history.

i love driving my dad's 66 coupe. 327/350hp, 4sp, manual steering. and if the right 68-73 comes along, i'll have my own. they're in more of a reasonable price range for me compared to the 63-67, and the 74-82....... the rubber bumpered cars would be a last resort for me, and would have to be a hell of a buy.

my dad's car is an unrestored survivor, with one repaint in the early 70's (original color). while it's respected for what it is, neither my dad or myself have any issue with putting it through it's paces.

The '62 is a shame, at least it looks repairable. I really only have an appreciation for the early years, after '71 you could push them all into a hole (especially the disco era though C4 Vettes).

not a vette fan myself. (well i wouldnt say no to a split rear window stingray). But never against cars getting hurt, classic new someones fault or accident. Still hurts to see.

They did say a few had some close calls. LIke the only production 1983 vette.
