Optima replacement

I'm slowly getting back into RC for the 3rd time since the 80's with encouragement from my grandson. My favourite cars back in the day were the Ultima and the Optima, in fact I still have a few that I could not part with + a bunch of parts.
I see Kyosho still make an Ultima but do they make an Optima replacement? I would prefer to stay with 1/10 scale.
There's not much Kyosho support here in Canada so who's the best Kyosho dealer in the US. By best I mean who has the best Kyosho stock.
Any help appreciated.

Nice, I see a treasure-trove of gold nuggets in that pile! 8) No, Kyosho never did continue with the chain-driven Optimas after the Turbo Optima/Salute. They went to belt-drive with the many flavors of Mid, though, which passed on much of its DNA to the Lazer series.

Like you, I had plenty of spare parts lying around, so instead of buying a modern car, I ended up modernizing two of my Optimas, and turned one of them into a onroad car. To do it properly though required a great deal more work than just mounting road wheels & tires, body mounts and a body, I discovered through much trial & error & research.

Welcome , what province ? Hit the Kyosho forum for pretty much anything your looking for information wise . A few of us around town are diehard kyosho fans and would be more than happy to help out. How about some individual pictures of your stash . Naked ones too;)

Are you sure your Ultima in the top pic isn't a MRP Pro 110?

Now you have me thinking, I know I never owned an MRP Pro 110 but for a short time I did have an RC10. It might be that.

Oh yes I see the address, that's the VW dealership. Those boys must be doing well, that's the 2nd time they've put up a new building in 12 years.
