AE the best out there

Post by rctenracer »

It took awhile but AE is going where others are not. New cars with b5 and M version . The classic and parts support . Worlds car for the vintage racer . And the sleath trans for racer and restorers . AE now covers it all . I am sure other companies are watching the vintage race seen to see if it pans out.

Now they just need to make wide track arms in white, and 25 degree castor blocks.

AE was one of the last companies with great parts support. They were one of the few that still supported 10+ year old cars. Only in the B4/T4 era did they stop. It is great that they started making parts again for the old car, that AE is still embracing its history. Although made in China now and a few minor changes it kind of feels like the old AE again.

I've built 4.2's and also built a Bmax 2 and I think the Associated is a better quality kit. The Yokomo although good had a certain "cheapness" about it that didn't impress me.

Im kinda disapointed that I didnt get into AE as a kid. I had many different cars and with no real track, there were no older mentors to watch and learn from. So the old buy it because the box looked cool rule applied. I like to watch all the cool builds here but I have little desire to chase all the plentiful cool stock and custom parts out there. But looking from the "other team", AE makes/made some really cool stuff.

I agree. It's seems AE is really listening to what the customer wants. The b5s' seem to give racers what they want, with the standard, and mid motor. The classic was a huge step to offer both old school racers new kits, and parts, and also let people who either missed out the first round or to too young to have been there. Now the worlds, the stealth kit, it's a very good time for an AE fan. The worlds is great just because it's updated where needed, but mostly left true to the original. I have preordered one, not to store away, but to build with my daughter and run like it was made to. I will be using the correct vintage bulkhead/shocks, and anything else that I feel looks too updated. I'm ok with the trans update, mainly because it's what I have done to my other runners, and I am happy with the setup. But really I am very pleased with the direction AE is headed in. Long live the tub cars!!!
I'm not like them, but I can pretend...

Agreed, I'm in overload with all the great support for old cars, parts, and nostalgia. Makes me want to spend, spend, spend! It's hard to resist.
