Whilst searching for spares for my Pro SE project over Christmas, I came across this JRX2 on the bay. Car looked to be in reasonable condition and felt this would make an ideal racer to supplement the car I had back in the day. I contacted seller to see if he would be willing to post to the UK for me and we struck a deal.

On arrival car looked to be in a better condition than expected, it has had some little use but wouldn't say it was excessive. Car mostly seems to be original parts and has very little wear and will be more than ideal for racing.
Car is stripped and been rebuilt at the moment, mostly with the original parts that came with the car. Will do a few updates along the way, like slipper and 2.2" wheels to make it more racer friendly, but I'm very happy with getting this car.

That looks like a great basis for a vintage racer! I absolutely love mine - its no shelf queen but it goes really well & always gets comments at the track... everyone is aware off the RC10 (especially now the Classic has been released) but the JRX2 really gets people talking.

Looks to be in real nice shape. You might want to save the thin shock collars (if you haven't already done so) and use the thicker ones instead. The original ones are super hard to come by - as I'm sure you know

Yes shock collars already put to one side Have managed to find a bumper, also fitted the later shock cartridges and 56 pistons, so much smoother. Slipper wise I was tempted to go for the double pad conversion, but may well use the single pad one for now as I have one in my spares. Will also have a spare gearbox from my SE, which may be handy when that gets a Retrofit. Not sure which direction to go with the 2.2" wheels yet, I have either B4 all round, or RC10 front and Losi rears the type with the lexan hub covers. Would of been nice to find some 2.2" spoked wheels though.

Do either of you have a basic set up for our astro tracks?

Look forward to getting the car out on the track. I love my RC10's but as you say the JRX2 is something different, especially when the RC10 starts appearing in there masses.

Dan's your man(!) on this as he is an active racer......I'm just inactive and nostalgic I don't even own a real 1:1 car these days....

Ahhh! My 1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 - sadly long gone to someone that could afford to 'love' and run it......I miss it even now It was an ex-Californian car as well so was practically rust free.

Quite a head turner it was too. And at just over 18' long it would just about fit in my garage with the aid of a wooden broom so that I could judge the distance! And then had to exit the car Starsky & Hutch style out the window as it was impossible to open the door (when in the garage)...!

394cu in (6.4L) V8 with 300bhp at the back axle and if you were lucky, get around 11mpg.....

I could go on....!
