does an original box have value?

Please note, this thread is not a solicitation to sell anything - I have already requested permission to access buy/sell and I know this is not the forum to sell in;; rather to ask a question:
I have an original box for a RPS/Yokomo Dog Fighter RPS SE, 1985 or 1986, in remarkably good condition overall
Is it worth even trying to find a box to ship it in and/or does it have any value to anyone (and thus worth the effort to list it in the for sale section); or should I send it to recycle?
I don't know if anyone collects original boxes.

Yeah, its worth something. Ive been eyeing a tamiya escort cosworth box on feebay for quite some time,, but the price is a bit ridiculous. Id give 20 bucks plus shipping for just about any decent box that pertains to my projects.

When it comes to rare cars it can be valueable, some people pay "silly" money for it.
To me it´s just a cardboard box - Nice if it follows the car, but not something I´d pay alot for.

Quality of the box art is fairly important. Tamiya had the best. Kyosho probably second best,, and the rest are also rans. Most of the Tamiya kits I bought were based on being seduced by the box art!

My RPS box has a big hole in the top. I would love to replace it if the price was right.
But this is not a solicitation to buy...that is until your screen name changes color.

Back in the day, when I sold a car, I usually sent it in some kind of now irreplaceable box with beautiful art,, usually not for the car that was being sent. Would like some of those boxes back.

IMHO boxes definitely have value. For me a solid restoration of a vintage car is only further completed with the original manuals and the box. I have definitely bought boxes before at times (e.g. RC10 Worlds, RC10T) and if a Yokomo box ever came up I would be all over it
