Re-Release Cat
Re-Release Cat
When will Shumacher re release the original Cat?
Let's put it out there and see if there is any interest.
It would be so good to see them on the track again and I think they would sell lots of them.
Lets see what people think.
Cheers

The RC10 worked out of the box, the Cat kind of didn't unless you spent many many prep hours on it... not sure your 2013 user would be too keen about this, only the oldtimers like us would be ok with this - and we aren't big enough a market

Still... if they re-re it, of course I'd get one!

Re: Re-Release Cat
I'm not a fan of the whole rere thing..
It's the hunt that keeps me interested in the hobby, and if I can just go out and buy a new kit or parts then that thrill is gone for me. What would I do with my evenings if I wasn't trawling ebay hoping to find that last part I need?

Re: Re-Release Cat
That will never happen
Perhaps if Thunder Tiger took over the company
The total amount of sold CAT´s in the 80´s are just a fraction of RC10 B´s or Boomerang´s.
My best guess would be 1000-2000 sold items if they did.
Couldn´t even pay the mold form for the inner transmission housing

Re: Re-Release Cat
Before Schumacher US was shut down I asked Robin about it. He said no way, never!
Given this was 2010, but he didn't want to re-release an old car for the exact reasons listed above. The market was to small, and the work involved was intense.
Not sure how he feels about it now though?

Re: Re-Release Cat
I hope he feels exactly the same.
Sure, some anniversary things, maybe a decal set here, some bodies or wheels there, would be nice, but I as a Schumacher fan and collector do not want a re-release of any of the old cars.
not that my attitude would stop me buying anything they did re-produce.....
Kyosho are not doing it, so why should Schumacher?

to play the devil's advocate - AE is doing it, so is Tamiya, so why wouldn't Schumacher?stulec52 wrote: Kyosho are not doing it, so why should Schumacher?

Re: Re-Release Cat
I can't see it happening due to costs. Also you would have to replace so many parts to make it raceable.
If Schumacher were ever tempted to dip their toes in the re-re market, then I think the Cougar would be the more sensible solution for them.
