Team Car overhaul, long front shock conversion
I had seen a few long front shock conversions on here already, plus elsewhere, and that kind of inspired me to give it a try on one of my RC10s. It came with a painted blue chassis, so my interest was in getting all of the colors right. I figured white arms and RPM yellow bling would match nicely. Here are some pictures of the final product, plus some video links to the overhaul process.

Loving the colours! Was this chassis painted or bought this colour?

Re: Team Car overhaul, long front shock conversion
Thanks!
The chassis (and original nose plate) were painted by the previous owner. The new nose plate (10T) and nose brace tubes are anodized blue. It's not an exact match to the chassis, but the shade is pretty close.
The only other thing I kind of wanted to get for this was the JConcepts honeycomb blue anodized motor plate; however, I can't seem to find any. Not sure if they're not released yet or if they're already discontinued...?

Awesome! Thanks.
That's strange, though. I checked A-Main a few days ago and it didn't show up...

Re: Team Car overhaul, long front shock conversion
Finally got around to painting a body for this. I decided to go with the new Pro-Line Mirage SS and paint it in my usual racing colors. I'm quite pleased with it.
Although not explicitly shown here, I managed to source a Novak Mercury receiver and a NIB Novak Hammer, which I installed along with a NIB Reedy Kr 12TD. All very pretty

Glad you like it
I've always had a thing for blue and fluorescent yellow. It's good contrast, and the yellow gives it a vibrant accent without being overwhelming. Great...now I feel like an HGTV host...

What extended front shock tower did you use. How much taller is it compared to the stock one.

Re: Team Car overhaul, long front shock conversion
This is using a RC10T front tower, which requires you to use a 10T front bulkhead, steering rack, etc. The video links near the top of the page walk through this.
