Possible to repair novak havoc?

Todsy I was testing my car after rewireing it. I use bullet connectors and always double check polarity, even before I pluged it in tonight but I still reversed the polarity and smoke started to come out. Guess I need glasses.

Does any one know if Novak would be able to repair my screw up?

P.S.

Ruined a perfectly good battery couple months ago after leaving it plugged in...

Contacted Novak and they said no.

My next pucharse was suppose to be esc combo for my rere rc10. Might have to share esc between my RC12r5 and the classic now. Hate doing that.

Not sure what motor you want to use, but if you won't go below a 13.5, I'd recommend a Hobbywing Just Stock Club Spec ESC. I just picked one up from my local shop for $55. I'm using it in my RC10 CE with a 17.5 and it is really nice.

EDIT-- And if it makes you feel any better, I have 2 Novak ESC's that are fried because I plugged them in backwards. Nothing more frustrating...

When I read the title I was thinking to myself "not if you smoked it like I did mine!!!"

I had mine hooked up properly tho. I was in the garage function testing it, doing slow circles, burnouts, brake checks, etc when all of a sudden it started to sizzle and then the smoke poured out. It got so hot it unsoldered all the leads. This was the 2nd one I had go to hell.

Im done with Novak for a while.

Never use bullet connectors between ESC & battery. Use EC3's or EC5's, that way it's physically impossible to accidentally reverse the connections. I know a lot of guys use Deans connectors, a holdover from bygone times, but they *can* physically make a contact when reversed. (Plus they're a righteous pain to solder compared to EC3/5's so why bother at all?)

I often use corally plugs (=bullets) into lipo packs... I make sure
1 lead is always too short to reach the wrong hole.

Was big fan of Hobbywing but lately SoeedPassion has been selling some great value gear.
Revention S unsensored is better tan an EzRun & cheaper too.

Why? If you do it right, there's no risk. 1 male and one female on ESC leads, same on the battery. Brass connectors can't do homosexual.

I use 4mm bullets on everything, with the red dual terminal connectors:

Only way to reverse polarity with these is if you solder them up wrong.

I have a pretty good feeling if you pushed in those opposite ends, they may not make a firm contact, but they would likely permit the touching of opposite metal ends. Same goes for Deans Ultras. The metal contacts won't insert into each other, of course, but they WILL touch. This is impossible to do with EC3/EC5 connectors as the different poles in the plastic connectors are completely different shapes.

Not unless you don't fully seat the terminals into the connectors. The plastic connectors themselves are opposing male/female, and the terminals are 2-2.5mm below flush, depending on brand.

If you try to plug in a deans ultra backwards you deserve to blow your sh#t up. You learn that concept when your two, trying to put round cylinders in square holes. It's a t shaped connector, how would you.....nevermind. Not worth the debate
