Hello all,
I have a question that I never thought to ask before.
The entire time I've owned my Rc10, whenever I install the nose tubes, I need to flex the nose plate a little to get them to go on. Then, whenever I take the screws out of the chassis, they pop out. With the nose tubes out of the chassis but installed on the nose plate, they pop up around 2-4mm.
It never occrued to me that this might not be normal until now.
Is my nose plate bent?

I sure hope it is.

It should be bent twice. Once at 30 degrees, and then at 60 degrees. If that is the case, your nose tubes will not align but fly a bit higher if disconnected from the chassis as you described.

I actually bent a nose plate to 25 degrees and 65 degrees once for fun, then added a few washers up along the nose tubes in the front. I realized the kickup is actually adjustable if you got a vice and an idea.

Okay, thanks. It just seems odd, now that I think about it, that the factory setup puts so much tension on the nose plate and tubes.

and your chassis is probably bent too.

I don't think I've ever assembled an rc10 front end that didn't have tension on the tubes. The holes in the nose plate are higher than those in the tub and the logo area of the nose plate isn't bent back far enough to compensate.
