Picked this guy up in a lot the other day. Wasn't too sure what I was gonna do with it. I decided to go ahead with a build. Pretty complete truck. Wish it wasn't dyed, but don't we all!

Plans are... Tear down and remove appx. 1/2 lb of shoo goo. I'm gonna re-dye all the rpm stuff black, it's blueish-purple now. All the associated parts will be replaced with white ones. Gonna ditch the losi ball cups and put new rpm ones on the rcps turnbuckles. Ive gotta set of 10t truck wheels with skinny fronts laying around so they may end up on here, since I find chrome hpi wheels obnoxious. The tranny is the rpm change box, but it looks to have a losi slipper on it?? Also got a bid in for the piece that connects the chassis to the motor plate, from a graphite. One thing i'm missing is the other little white piece that the batter strap clips to. If anyone has one, let me know!!

Nice! This was the car you were talking about. The guy loved shoe goo.

This will be a great survivor. I love the RPM 10t's.
Go black if you want, but once you do, you can't go back

. And there are plenty of black one's about. I would go navy blue with blue anno t'buckles, nuts, bolts etc. I think that'd look cool, and different. And if the blue doesn't end up consistent enough, you can always go black on round 2.

Just put everything in the dye...doh!

Went ahead and dyed all the blue asso parts too. I'll see how it looks, and if I don't like it ill put the white stuff on for some contrast. I was thinking all black with some stainless hardware.

After careful consideration of my bank, paypal, and credit card accounts, I determined that this had to be a parts box only build.

So here's some photos. As always, once I start building, I forget to take pics.

I gave all the scuffed parts a light sanding. Dyed everything black. Replaced the motor plate with a black one. Rebuilt the diff. Polished all the hingepins. CLR'd the rusty cvds (oops! didn't know it would take off the coating!). Replaced some orings and added fresh oil to the shocks. One of the shafts is slightly bent, and I didn't have another one, so that will have to wait. I added a set of stock 10t turnbuckles until I get ball ends for the rcps ones. I put on a set of original 3 piece wheels that I had. I also built the whole thing with stainless 4-40 hardware, with the exception of the shock collar and trans screws. Not sure if I'm keeping this one yet. If I do future plans are of course the turnbuckles and rpm rod ends. I also have all the white associated parts, so I may peroxide those and swap em. I have a few 10t bodys around just need to decide on one. It came with an old school S&K Airs body, but the previous owner gave it a super thick coat of black spray all over the outside.

That looks great. I really wish I bought one of these BITD.
I remember I hated that three-hole front shock tower because the RPM rod ends would bind against the nose brace tubes lol
