Just won this today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120183644456&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=002
I already have most of an Ultima rolling chassis, so it looks like I'll only need to either find an original wing or make one from scrap lexan.

Can anyone recommend contemporary wheels and tires for it? Bear in mind that front wheels made for the RC10 can be used on the Ultima front without a problem.

I just realized that some of you RC10 buffs don't know what Sideways is. Basically it was Kyosho's attempt to introduce a kit for the dirt oval class. In order to cut costs they based it on the Ultima chassis (almost unchanged except for larger shocks and shock towers). The included body and wheels/tires combination looked really nice!

Thanks for your interest Ed, I recently moved to my my new house and there is a TON of work to do, so with that and other family responsibilities I can spare maybe an hour of RC work dedicated time a week, which I use mainly to maintain my runners.

While I have all the parts to build the Sideways, there are several other projects in the pipe with higher priority (rebuilding my Marui Samurai, Astute and Optima) not to mention getting myself a nice crawler (crawling is really hot here in Israel, all my friends got one and meet regularly to run them).

I remember that the Sideways was the perfect platform for those older hot rod bodies. When I worked at the hobby shop, we couldn't get rid of our Sideways inventory. I decided to paint a Parma 57 chevy body and mount it to the Sideways (no roll cage).

After seeing it, the sold really quickly.

Snake,

I just restored an astute recently...so let me know if you need any information / parts.

Regards,
highwayracer

I guess the Sideways cool wheels and tires really matched the hot rod look...

Thanks for the offer, I have all the parts I need except for the body (I guess I'll get the kamtec repro eventually, but currently its price really deters me), I intend to make it a runner so I'll probably use Madcap suspension. I already have most of the hop ups installed on my Madcap runner (UJs, TTC, 2.2'' wheels) which will get stripped for the Astute project.
