More crash badness

A dealer friend called me and said he had an LXT he just took in. It had the original box with it he said. I was excited to go see.
When I see it I see it is has some issues.
The guy had an accident with it and broke the front bulkhead he told me. I looked closer and was a little shocked. Apparently he did put on the brace but only used the 2 back screws because it was difficult to get to the 2 front screws with the LXT body mount in the way.

Here is a picture of the parts that didn't make it. The chassis actually looks to be ok.
So now you all know what can happen when you run with a brace but don't use the front screws.

My theory is the top of the shock tower hit something really hard. Don't think they had body on because the body is cut but not painted.

The shock tower had the 2 top pieces still attached. So I think the tower get bent back and ripped off. The force caused the shocks to pull back on the front arms until they tore from the bulkhead which was already weak from the top being torn off.

How about this for a theory... full speed run under a full sized car that was misjudged and was actually too low? :)

Um given the era it came from, we used to blame such things on a glitchy AM radio or someone turning onto our channel. Not a misjudge.
