OK, looking for a Turbo Ultima body.....
Does anybody have one, or know where I can find a replacement body for a Turbo Ultima?
Any suggestions on alternative options if I can't find one?
I was wondering if the Optima bodies would be a close enough fit, as Kamtec has a good variety.

Re: OK, looking for a Turbo Ultima body.....
Turbo Ultima bodies rarely show up on ebay. I've seen two in the past 5 years. It seems the new rage is to use a Tamiya desert gator or sand viper body. If you do a search here, it will turn up a few threads where people have done that.

In my opinion the Optima shell is a little heavy looking in style to suit the light front end of a 2wd, Desert Gator or Sand Vipers definitely do the job, this is my Sand Viper on my ultima pro.bngiles wrote:Does anybody have one, or know where I can find a replacement body for a Turbo Ultima?

The Ultima pro uses the extended chassis compared to the turbo, correct?

That's a good point, mine has the XL chassis and is about 15mm longer than the standard Ultima Pro, I don't know how the Turbo Ultima measures up to it, I'm sure someone will know (bing bong calling Terry.sc)bngiles wrote:The Ultima pro uses the extended chassis compared to the turbo, correct?

Depends. The Pro and ProII uses the standard wheelbase chassis, the Pro XL has the longer one.bngiles wrote:The Ultima pro uses the extended chassis compared to the turbo, correct?
My Ultima uses an Optima Mid Custom shell and undertray, repros are available from Kamtec.

I'll save you the search: here's the desert gator in 3 different styles, all on the same Turbo Ultima chassis.

FYI, I just got an email from Kamtec, they said they have a new repro ultima body just starting production.

Re: OK, looking for a Turbo Ultima body.....
that'd be an utima2 I suppose?
do't see them make the roolbars for the original.
Anyway with their prices and shipping cost to JpanI can buy 2 or 3* desert gator bodies.
first one I got was a spare I ordered and which came without stickers: half the price as the 2nd one: from the shelf but with stickers
Just didn't wan to wait

Yeah, Turbo Ultima, sorry. I think that is the same body they used on the II, Pro, Pro xl, etc...

yup it is one and the same: even if the wheelbase is a bit different the body is 1-size-fits-all
