progress or regression? Been here before and back again..

Years ago I had built 1 GREAT progress using the best parts from several beaters. It was converted to full ball bearings, and used a 240st motor for power, along with some kind of esc. Was one of the most enjoyable cars in memory. Images of that little buggy throwing dirt from all fours and tearing tight circles in the gravel still haunt my brain bucket. Not very fast, but very dramatic! So, I sold it. Bummer. No worries,, going there again, and here are the doners.
Grey one is near mint with no signs of usage, but alot of shelf wear. White one is well kept little used,, both are complete down to the speed controllers and zip ties. Plan is to build one shelfy and one hard core runner. Still have a pile of parts from the years ago project too. Really, these 2 shouldnt need anything other than labor and fresh lubes.

I like the Progress/Gallop - but boy, aren“t they a pain in the ass to work on.
I have 3-5 Gallops and neither of them has been completely finished after the rebuild or have yet to be dismantled.
Looking foreward to seeing a bit of Progress

It takes a while but these Progress series threads pop up from time to time
I started off with a Gallop Mk 2 - looked a rather sorry one, but after a day stripping it, cleaning and rebuilding I got the chassis from this..
to this..
My other half was amazed what I'd turned around while she was out at work, and made her Valentines gift to me rather more appealing (to her eyes, not mine I'll add

) !.
After a new body and a temporary Gallop Mk 1 cage (recently rectified) it turned into this lovely..
After that little project I got a taste for the chain drive 4WS so I grabbed a Mk I Gallop from Poland, done nothing with this since all it needed on arrival was a dust down..
and if you have two of them, you might as well have the third. The Progress definitely needs some attention, but it's a near future project now that I'm getting down the project pile..

Very nice! My only gripe about progress gallop is theyre made from non frp plastics. Have always been my favorite vintage buggies though. Can you give details about those street tires on the back of the last car pictured? My runner will be equipped in similar fashion. Duratrax?
By the way,, got more details of that frp top deck? Thats very interesting!

Those rear tires looks like Tamiya Ascona, Quattro or Lancia tires.
Very nice examples -
