I am attending the iHobby show in Chicago this weekend. I ran into someone and got to see the new 22-4 up close.
Excuse my ugly face in the picture with the other guy. I now have a bunch of great history stuff to add to vintagelosi.com. Did you know there was a 2 belt prototype for the XX4?

Gil Losi Jr is back in TLR i thought he is working on Kyosho
However, great to see him again to his roots
The 22 Four is awesome no need to spend more on buying hop ups and gizmo for my XX4.
I will get the new 22 Four when the price drop

The prototype as well as many many other prototypes existed until this last February. A fire started by a Lipo battery burned up his work area in his garage and destroyed just about all of it. When he told me I just about cried for him. He said it really hit him hard after it happened. There may be some pictures and that is about it.

He is not back at Losi, I took pictures of the 22-4 at the Horizon Booth.
He is also not at Kyosho, not for a while. He is part of the Firelands company and working with Hobbytown. He is not really doing much with AKA either.

I couldn't adjust my work schedule to get out there. Sucks.
From what you've seen up close, are there parts that seem swappable to the old XX-4? I have a good supply of parts but you never know.
Is the new Losi Rally there as well?

I saw gil losi junior at the off-road super nats down in LA last year. As stupid as it sounds, I was a little star struck! Started racing the JRX2 back in 88 when I was 12, so he was like a star to me. He was running around too crazy to actually meet him though. I didn't want to bug him.

it's not stupid, i would be star struck too. i don't think these guys (gil, cliff, jay, masami etc...) understand what they mean to us. acutally i think masami gets it. lol

Me too,I'd love to meet him,or his brother Allen.
Al was a pro skater, back in the late '70's and through the '80s,riding for the Losi owned Variflex company (before the products turned into toys).
I want a 22-4,so bad!
Gotta wait for that price to drop,$650?!
How in the name of Greek buggery did they come up with that price?
I see a lot of people finallypurging their XX4 part hoards, gotta be because of the 22-4.
Got me a 22,a 22T and a 22SCT,just need that 22-4 to replace my B44...

Might have to grab the 22-4 manual, see if there's any parts carryover...
