"Just another" 10T ;)
Hi all
it's been a while since I've presented a finished project on the forum... simply because I can't seem to be able to complete many of them between the modern racecars maintenance, work, family, sickness and everything else. And when I can complete cars, well, I'm struggling to find time to post about them at least on the english-speaking forums
This RC10T has been done for a few months now and I've written a (lengthy) article (in French) here
http://overrc.com/vintage/autos/assorc10t/rc10tlonestar/rc10tlonestar.html - I simply cannot replicate this on rc10talk for obvious reasons so here are the key bullets!
This Team Truck was acquired a long while ago, not sure where to be honest, it's been in pipeline for what seems to be ages, really It was in good shape from the outside and showed minor wear. It went the disassembly treatment, all the axles were polished, a few new parts were sourced (shock towers, rear plate, and then some), it got some discrete bling with a set of Jake's spacers and some more obvious one with a set of Kelly Lunsford's finest, a TBG gear cover (with a losi plug sorry for the wrong spur too...), a TruStock, like-new Tires and rims which somehow ended up in my stock at some point years ago (i think the fronts are lightly used, the rest is tops), and after a lot of cleaning, scrubbing, peroxyding and general TLC it then started looking like this:
and I still had one of Jay's lextastic 10T repops... Let's be honest, if it isn't a maximum 4-color paintjob with straight lines only, I can't do it... So I requested a very, very talented painter to bring his skills and aerograph back from the retirement and to replicate what was my "dream paint job" from my avid rc magazine reader's teen memories... here was the model, a Mugen Athlete Evo test in Auto8 from '96:
And, well, let's say that I wasn't disappointed with the final result...
If you can guess who the painter is, congratulate him again please for an AWESOME paintjob, which I complimented (gently) with a few 10T stickers... I can't really describe what it feels like to hold the finished product in my hands... very happy!
a+

That looks great! Nice work
