is there a way too remove the old paint from a white part? Someone painted the bumper black on the Rad2 I just bought.

What's much more important is what the "white parts" are made of. If it's nylon, you can probably go to town with Easy-Off oven cleaner or acetone. If it's white plastic, you'll end up with a puddle of goo.

I'm guessing it's nylon. It's the front bumper on my new traxxas Rad2.

Try a dab of either of the above on the bottom. The paint should come off quite easily. If nothing happens to the material underneath, you should be fine. Just a note what to watch out for, as I tried removing paint from some white plastic Marui Galaxy wheels--the paint came off instantly, but then I could see the underlying plastic softening up, too. Those wheels are plastic instead of nylon. I would agree that a bumper is probably nylon.

I think you are ok with any parts on the rad 2 EXCEPT: the chassis. don't put any acetone on the chassis, it is a plastic blend. you could use brake fluid, it won't hurt nylon, and it probably won't hurt the chassis. you could try it in a small spot somewhere first to see how it goes, put the solvent on a paper towel and wipe the paint away, rather than soaking the plastic.

Thanks for the info. I will try the brake fluid since I have some in the shed. I wasn't thinking of it since it destroys lexan so badly.
