Testing 25 Years of the RC10
This will be a thread showing the performance differences as the RC10 evolved over the course of 25 years.
To keep parity and only show the chassis performance, all eight cars will share the same front and rear tires and same electronics. They are all built exactly how the manual says to build them. Shock oils, springs, settings and all geometry are all OEM!
Anthony (vintageAE) and I, have been working on this project for over 3 years now. My self purchasing donor runner cars and both Anthony and I building them to spec. Anthony has painted most of the box art bodies as well. We are near the end and our goal is to have all eight cars ready to test for the spring of 2014. How this will work is, we are getting a local Pro Team Associated driver (Pete Tozer) to drive each car under the same conditions while we time, video and photograph. (I'm hoping to recruit RCSparks for the video, although he does not know this yet!
) The tires we chose are Losi (In honor of Gil and his affiliation with the first RC10) 2.0 silver Step Pins and silver Wide Body fronts. I have LRP electronics, but I will talk to AE before as they may like a different selection. The Radio and servos at this time will be Futaba. I just want to also say to the many members here that in small a large ways have contributed to this test, Thank You!
Anthony has the Graphite body painted and I only need him to do the CE in box art! The B4 (not shown) has a RTR body or could use one of mine, but I may try to convince Anthony to do one of the Ryan's, or maybe Masami.
