Cougar - digital PKE version (yes, this is a bit nerdy)

Decided a while ago that it might be a good idea to reverse engineer my Cougar. Just in case the time comes when a 3D printer can produce usable parts in a quick and low-cost manner. Or if I happened to win the lottery and could afford the costs involved in producing the tooling and making a few kits.
I started with the transmission:
and since I did the bosscat chassis earlier I re-visited the BossCougar

Very cool

I would like to learn 3d modelling so I could do something like this myself, one day..
Now if you could take the 3d model of the gearbox casing, and get it machined in aluminium, mmmm
Paul.

was just reminded of how bent and twisted my chassis is. not fun. I need to come up with a replacement but not sure what to do since my car is the only vintage cougar I've seen for sale in sweden for a very long time. I could design a chassis based on a flat sheet of aluminium (could have a local company cut it using laser or waterjet and do the 15-degree bend for the front end, cost would probably be very agreeable), maybe make it a double-decker, but I'm not really sure. What do you guys think?

Sure, why not? If you can't either find it or afford it, make it yourself.

Hi,
I've been doing the same!

What CAD system are you using?
I've modelled all my touring cars apart from the mi4cxl and the cat sx3.
Regards,
Nick.
