Hi guys
Looking for any tips on charging the above battery for the first time.
I was going to trickle charge it but am looking for advice from people who may know better.
The battery is the big block battery that came with my hilux :)

Cheers
Chris

I'm guessing that's an old NiCd or NiMh battery? If so, just hook it up and charge it, nothing really else to do. If you have a newer charger, set it to the correct chemistry. If its an older charger, just plug it in - but if it doesn't have a shut off, you'll need to monitor it by the temperature method.

Thanks for that, yeah, its a Nicad , I will probably just charge it at 1 A for 4 hours .
I have a multi battery type charger so it wi have auto cut off.

there are 5x 4000mAh D-cells in there, also used in old T tanks

if the nicads are showing decent signs of life (voltage > 5V)
it can be charged at 2-4A... use nicad setting on charger

those tank packs use a different battery plug too...

Hey thanks for the tip. I just moved house so all the Rc car stuff is on hold for a bit. I noticed the pugs were different so I made an adapter. Cheers :)
