Plasti-Dipped RC10-DS

Picked up a nice RC10DS from a member here.

Chassis was a bit gouged up from running. All other parts were like new, so I stripped her down to repaint the chassis.

Wire brushed the entire chassis, nose plate and motor plate, then hit them with some black spray paint. Sanded that down smooth, then for the final coat as I was rummaging through my paint cans I came across a nearly full can of spray-on plasti dip.

Figured what the hell, it's worth a shot.

Came out great if I do say so myself. This one is going to be a shelfer so not too concerned about the durability of the coating. Looks awsome though!

Here she is:

Looks great, and should be pretty tough. And it gives me a really interesting idea... I have some paint-on bedliner left over from doing the floors of my Miata... I wonder how that would do? Might have to try it.

Wow, the chassis looks better than new. Makes me want to apply plasti-dip on everything in the apt, lol.

All good, I use it to waterproof all the electronics in a trail truck. Any electronics really, anything you think you are going to get somewhat wet out running around.

It is great stuff, all sorts of colours and removable.

Used on electronics you say Dave...

Maybe I should be using it on my truck, other than blacking out my badges and emblems.

I didn't know they made Plasti-Dip in spray cans. Great finish to it. 8) Are you running it? I'd love to see how it looks after a few packs. :D

Lol probably not going to run it, but if I do I'll report on the durability. Folks use this stuff on brake calipers, wheels, grilles, etc, on 'real' cars so I think it's pretty tough.
