Looks great! I know allot of people hate on Traxxas, but you just can't beat the value of a slash and how durable they are!
At that amount of money, I would have looked at the Proline upgades though!

Yeah, like that widetrack arm conversion they have? I saw it after I'd ordered if I'm being honest, but I do like the RPM stuff so I'm still happy.
I think the next purchases will be another Slash for my daughter when she turns 4 (and run it at half speed/beginner mode) and maybe a 1/8th scale 4wd for my son next year because he's showing interest.

For a kid what you got is perfect and still racy enough!

Looks good! I'm a fan of the slash. My racer is an Anza Slash. The only Traxxas parts left though are the front bulkhead, idler gear and shocks.

We have three Slashes. My kids two get passed around at every family gathering and have little-to-no damage over the years. On a decent lipo they run an hour with the stock Titan brushed motor. I raced mine while the 'stock' class at the local track slowly became a cheat-fest. Now they just have 2wd SC open.
The RPM stuff is great and will endure the new brushless power. Imho the Proline conversion would help if he was racing it.
My kids still like the trucks & buggies but they have more interest in flying now. Oh, and their crawlers are still used during camping trips. That video of your son is awesome. Another Slash would be perfect for your daughter.

Looks great Adam. I need to do an overhaul on mine. It's been whipped like a pack mule and just begs for more. There's nothing better than seeing your kid grin from ear to ear. Makes all the sacrifices and headaches worth it!

I like the green RPM parts! I didn't realize they did that color; I've only ever seen black, white, blue, and purple.

Funny I remember when my little guy was bashing around in the gold pan I built for him and it was constantly 'can you make it go faster daddy?'
And until Christmas this past year, he was quite happy doing wheelies in his basher gold pan. Then we got him a 350QX2 Quad copter and now all the RC cars are collecting dust
Great that you could do that for him and getting it running again. I don't really love the Traxxas stuff (AE die hard right here) but you can't ignore the durabilty of those things! Built like tanks.
I still like the fact that my neighbour who has two e-Revos wanted to race me and my son. I had my B44 with a 7700 Castle in it and my son had his gold pan with a 5700 Castle in it. We handily spanked those Revos (even the one with a 3S in it).
