I've never seen one in person and I guess I haven't seen it (or more probably never paid attention) on the pics of other world's chassis, but is this narrowing of the rear end, stock or a later modification? And what is the reasoning behind it? I guess I'm asking what I'm looking at.

Different "worlds car"

The associated worlds car was still the standard rear width

Rpm sold a worlds conversion which is what you see there. It could be added to any rc10. The front was a narrow truck style bulkhead and long Arms, and the rear was new longer arms and a template to cut the chassis

Ok, So the idea was, what to reduce weight? Because if RPM was making the arms couldn't they just have made them to the length they wanted. Instead of having the customer cut in to their chassis? Or was it just a marketing tactic to show " hey look at you your modifying for racing" Whats the advantage? If any. I think it looks cool but any real race tech there?

Ya , but why narrow the chassis. the arms would be longer still if the chassis was full width. Were they adapting older too long arms?

RPM had a complete worlds car. The arms could be installed on a pan car if you install a rc10t front bulk head and narrow the rear chassis like your pic. Here is a pic of the Rc10 RPM world car upside down vs my RC10 graphite.

Because they were made to work with the offset of the wheels of that time without going past the max width allowed!

Ah, got it so they were adapting for it to be used on chassis other than their own make. That makes sense. Also, thinking about it, having the pivot point of the arms as close to the center as possible (logical extreme would be dead center?) would make the car more responsive. quicker to shift its weight. Probably also made it harder to drive. So meant for the pros most likely. Accurate? I'm not a racer so just thinking out loud.

Longer arms, with equal length camberlinks actually slow down suspension speeds and transition speeds, making it "plush". That suspension package was designed by AE for the 91' Worlds prototype, and RPM copied the suspension design and sold it
