I don't favor unbuilt kits; I favor cars. ;)

I don't have any new in box kits but the one I will always remember fondly is the first kit I built. The original Ultima.

The first car I built was the Marui Galaxy, my brother got it for his birthday but I built it. (He's not too much for tools or building stuff. Haha!) I then built a Marui Hunter for my cousin. I finally got my own car for my birthday, The Frog.

Frankly, I don't have particularly fond memories of any of those cars. It wasn't until I sunk my teeth into my first Optima--my second car--that the fond memories began. (I hated my Frog, no matter what I did to it to hop it up, it ran like crap, even if it looked awesome.)

GJW, that's a lovely collection of kits there. You're particularly lucky to have that NIB AYK Ascar.

I agree with you on the Kyosho Progress. Not only is it a great looking buggy, the kit box is really beautiful - large, colourful, nicely laid out. Definitely one of my favourites.

I really love the Marui Hunter kit as well. Even though it was Marui's entry-level buggy, the presentation of their kits was always really nice. Compare a NIB Marui Hunter to a NIB Tamiya Frog (original), and the Marui kit actually looks nicer inside.

The Wild Willy kit is also one of my favourites. And the huge Nichimo Lancia Stratos kit box is something to behold as well.
Also in my top 5 of all time would have to be the Kyosho Beetle kit, which came in a far larger box than it's sister cars the Scorpion and Tomahawk.

cheers,
H.
