17mm hex adapter?

been kinda side tracked playing with my new rc8.2e Rtr but getting back to the rc10t, I'd like to run some street wheels and tires on the rc10t that I had got for the buggy but are kinda hard compound and short, only about 3.5in tall. compared to 4.5 for the stock tires, so these kill gearing for it, but might be fun on the rc10t.

does anyone sell adaptors? probably easier to do the back only. but yeah, I tried searching and lots of short course truck stuff pops up.

I think that's gonna be tough to find. I know there are adapters for 12mm hex that'll work:

JConcepts Front Hex Adaptor 12mm Blue RC10B4.1

JConcepts Rear Hex Adaptor 12mm B4.1/B44.1 Blue

Associated Front Axle Hex B4

Associated Steering Block Hex SC10

Proline also makes 12mm adaptors but they're more expensive. Maybe someone else on here knows of a 17mm set that will work with the steering block and axles listed above. Good Luck! :D

Check out New Era Models, they make that kind of stuff.

New Era used to make them, not sure if they still do. They were marketed for the gt, but will also work fine on a 10t/t2.

new Era has a listing but says out of stock. I'll have to email them and see if they have plans to restock them

I know this is an older thread, but thought some might find this useful.

Certainly not a direct fit, but fairly easy to modify for use on Associated trucks.

Rear will require drilling the stock stub axles to accept the larger cross pin, and retapping the included retaining nuts from 4mm to #8-32.

Fronts will work if you carefully bore them to accept 3/8" Associated bearings. Don't bore them all the way through, though; they need to have a step, just like standard Associated wheels.

I don't have any photo's to show this in detail, but it is doable, and I have done it. The front adapters are still on my GT street fighter, though I ditched the rear ones, along with the entire RC10GT rear suspension and transmission, in favor of OFNA 1/8 scale parts.

Here is an older picture of the same vehicle, when I was still running a Picco .21 and the stock RC10GT trans & suspension, with HPI Phaultlines with 4.4 inch wheels. I had not done the front hubs yet:
