That AJT kit looks really interesting. How do you remember this stuff? I would read my magazines over and over but I couldn't tell you squat about mid-motor Optima conversions.

Ahhh yes, I remember reading that build on some other forum...in particular, the medical tape on the front gearbox and the chainguide fabricated from plastic transparency film & tape stands out.

It looks perfectly functional, but a bit ghetto for my tastes.

Interesting, thanks for the link. I don't like the monoshock at the front though, can't see it being an improvement over the stock arrangement.

this are one of my favorite.......
now just hope have the chance to own the MIP cable version,that can complete my MIP 4x4 collection.

Does any one have a manual showing the assembly of the chain drive tranny for the RC10?
I picked one up off of E-bay, but it was apart. I think it is missing the top shaft. Could I use a stock top shaft?

Does anyone know if all of these old chain drive 1/10 4wd cars use the same chain. From what I have seen is that all of these chains that were used on Kyosho, AYK and others all look the same but were different lengths. Can anyone confirm if this is...

I take the time to finish also this project, a all new MIP RC10 4wd Chain Drive :lol:

Now I'm going to work on my RC10 Team Car full RPM world end's, my A&L Trailing arm's with Graphite chassis, my bullet front RC10 end's and Losi...

One issue you might notice...the wider your track gets in relation to your wheelbase, the more twitchy the steering will become. Wider track gives you improved steering, but too much is just as bad as too little. :)
it steers great on my shelf lol...
