That's exactly what I was thinking! Need solid proof before we update the 25 year thread!scr8p wrote:i may have seen an all black "graphite" team car, but i don't recall ever seeing an all black "tub" team car.

Re: Team Car revival - a few specific questions
i do. but the original poster said his team car is all black, so two-toned team cars don't matter.

I just mean NIB late graphite team cars (broken seal to examine contents though)
Re: Team Car revival - a few specific questions
Hi guys,
Interesting to hear all this!
I've asked my older brother to take some pics with his iphone the next time he's at home, I'll post them soon as they're sent.
You'll have to take my word that I didn't die the parts - I wouldn't lead you guys on like that I hope we can get to the bottom of it!
I thought it was strange too when I was young because the picture on the side of the box has white suspension parts, but when I was building it they were definitely black. Didn't think much of it at the time. I think we bought the kit in Fridley Minnesota at a place called National Hobby Co (now closed).
To forewarn, in my last trip home I ordered and installed World's style carbon front and rear shock towers and a small battery brace (all from RC Carbon Works) - so don't scream "Worlds!" when you see it The original came with the white fiberglass towers (I still have them).
The only other changes/upgrades off top of my head are a carbon transmission brace, Lunsford titanium rods and an RPM ball bearing steering assembly (I put these all in when I was a kid). I also recently replaced the gold bottom screws with blue screws and popped on a B4 (i think) gear cover.

Re: Team Car revival - a few specific questions
Here's a team car on eBay that appears to have come with black arms/mounts but white battery cups, suspension parts, and ball ends. Maybe there was some transition period when they were coming out with the black parts?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140968316154
I asked the seller to answer the following:
"Can you go into more detail about which of the plastic parts are original (i.e. suspension arms/mounts, battery cup, etc) and were you the first owner of the car? Thanks"
Will see if he follows up!

Scrubbing the google really hard for tidbits of detail, hope this is helpful!

"I'm building a Team Associated Team Car, this car is probably from about 94. I think those years because the car came with all the latest plastic parts from the end of the RC10's production run. I like the all black look, I plan on getting some black shock towers on it eventually."

Looks to be an all black #6035

And here maybe Showcase can provide some info on the middle car

Don't worry about what you see on eBay, anyone can dye parts- specific accompanying parts are either there to validate or not

Re: Team Car revival - a few specific questions
If it's not New In Box with sealed bags or New Built from someone that is an experienced, we can't use any of these as proof! Back in the day many people were dying parts black! I know I always did, even on all my short armed gold pans!frgna wrote:Scrubbing the google really hard for tidbits of detail, hope this is helpful!
