They say the color yellow and vintage rc makes you crazy. Well, I have both going on

I have been patiently waiting for a decent black chassis and nose for a long while. Yellow B2 fronts and ??? rears in the parts bin, the only plans in my crazed brain. Yellow rims belong on the black chassis...

Then I see the fuzzy epay auction picture of a black nose and chassis BIN $30. I ask the seller if the chassis is factory anodized and the response is "looks like factory paint." Based on the seller's other tool auctions, I assume they know difference between anodizing and painting. I rolled the dice on a $30 10 the hard way and came up with a pair of roses. The chassis looks like it spent its life shuffling from time to time in a box.

I am still looking for the "right" front tires. My brain is telling me the tires must show some mold release with rubber and wear similar to the Proline Worlds rears. I think the motor is too old for the car. I will probably swap out the 410 HPC for a Rooster or Tempest. Yeah, crazy... welcome to the shelf!

I thought the CE tubs swapped from gold to black anno in later production???

no, what you have pictured is a team car. has the team coated shocks too.

AHHH, not a CE Team Car. Same box, different yellow insert noting the Team Car. Two boxes I don't have. I'll have to review the 25 year thread before posting any other misinformation

A few updates... I finally got around to painting a body. I swapped out the Novak 410 for a Novak Tempest. I picked up the Novak NIB on epay for a song a couple of years ago. The seller was near the space coast of Cape Canaveral. They were selling multiple Novaks that reportedly came from a local NASA auction. Pretty cool IMO. Mars Rover Team Car.
