Just Another ZX-S

Post by HKS_TRD »

This has been in the works for quite some time, and right off the bat I have to extend huge thanks to James aka KyoshoFan2 for all his help with this which includes the shell which has a bit of history as it was painted by Mark Pavidis' painter and is a genuine ZX-S shell. I am going to fit some more anodised bits and pieces but the anodised bits that are already there (bar the chassis and battery posts) are kyosho works parts.

I'm contemplating putting a few stickers on the wing, obviously now will be going on the shell but I thought a couple on the wing wouldn't hurt, I've included a pic of the ZX-S repro decals for brainstorming and suggestions.

The wheels are a set I dyed for the Mid project I have not started yet, not sure what color may match best with the shell, perhaps a set of green wheels, or maybe not

Anyhow, on to the pics

I really need to pull the finger out and paint the shell on my Turbo Optima Mid Special so the similarities between the two shells is more obvious

Which reminds me that I am 99% decided to use a ZX-S shell on the LWB Mid build which I have had in the works for a long time

Me, thats my design thats been used since 89 on all my cars. This design was slightly different so never used it on my car and ended up in storage until that is this project came along. The pictures dont show all the detail as it kindof changes when you move around the shell. Im very happy this has gone to a good home.

A friend of mine saw it and said the same thing, the pics I sent to him on my cell phone don't do it justice

What other brand springs fit the Kyosho velvets I wouldn't mind some blue springs on the front of this or another project.

That failing I'll put blacks on the rear, or maybe green springs all round

Because the paint on the sides of the wing is rather transperent I'm not sure if I will put any stickers on the sides of the wing

Yes, if its Kamtec selling them, and my shell is still being used and looks just as good. That pictures shows the very first repro ever made by Kamtec of this shell. Of course mine has been battered and bruised since then but you wouldnt think so when you look at it. Kamtec make a thicker shell and is a better product for it, plus is cheap to buy.

We can all buy the zxs shell and this now and thats good for all who need it.
