Anyone using soft packs for your "personal" use ( i.e. non organized racing) at home, backyard, park-type casual running. Would I REALLY be taking a chance?

I use a Venom 3s soft pack in my Tamiya crawler and it's taken a good share of abuse, like tumbles down a 20+ ft hill and being submerged in water. I have some thin craft store foam around the sides and it's strapped in with two Pure-Tech straps. No problems yet.

as long as the battery compartment is protected, ie inboard, you'll be fine.

Thanks guys. That's that's what I was thinking... how much can happen to it in the centerline of a 1/10 buggy? For now (not racing organized) I can ease into lipo w/ cheaper soft packs. I'll pickup a hard case for the"race" car when get ready to race again.
