Messed up brand new parts

This is from my post: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3056&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

All parts came out of a NEW kit.

The chassis is missing its anodizing in spots but not faded. It looks like it was rubbed off or something. I tried and will keep trying to take a picture but the glare from my camera keeps messing it up. The transmission case has poor mold lines and looks like it was "melting" when it came out of the mold. There are also air pockets in the mounting screws etc. The rear wheel looks like there was dirt in the nylon or mold grew in there. These marks are not on the outside as you can see.

Anyways, I just thought it was funny to see some parts that came in a NEW kit that probably should not have made it past inspection. Any thoughts?

Kit character. :D

Quality control is spot-on for a company of that size in 1985. ;)

When I got my first RC10 parts not long ago,I was surprised about how low the asso parts quality was compared to my kyosho parts of the same age.
But what really puzzles me is how the stealth is so complete different of the other parts in finish and design.
Was it designed by another comapny for Asso, or what's the story behind it anyway?

I got some turnbuckles in my rc-18 FT kit that took me a while to figure out why they would not thread onto the ball cups.
Luckily one Call to AE got me some new ones in the mail

ya i gotta give it to AE, they do TOTALLY take care of customers when parts are bad. I had friends who had a mis-shaped body, got 2 new ones right away. in a b3 kit i think i had some bad parts and got them shipped right away..

On the other hand, LRP warranty is ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! NEVER BUY LRP lol. I personally have experienced a nightmare with LRP and associated and have read horror stories about it. First, they ship the stuff to germany to get fixed, then it takes absolutely forever to get back. Took me almost 8 months to get my LRP 7.1 warrantied, just died one day, and while they were very very apologetic, it still doesnt make up for the fact that i had to buy a new one to continue racing for the season.

I only buy tekin and novak now, i think tekin has the quickest turnaround, i sent back 5 bad esc's one day, i got them all back in less than a week and it was ridiculously cheap to repair, they totally valued my business.

Am I missing something here? I fyou say that lrp sucks cuz you sent 1 and it took forever to get it repaired but you sent 5 back to tekin doesn't that mean tekin is bad? Just my 2cents

sounds that way, 2 were from ebay being "known not working", 1 of them i crossed the wires and blew up a fet, 1 was for fuse replacement, and the last if i remember needed a "resolder" cause the fets became loose.

i ran tekin for years, and i destroyed the living crap outta them, i got a box of 15-20 tekins that still probably work perfectly but are probably old.

i think others will agree tekin definetly is a solid product. Ive NEVER had one die on me during a race, they are solid and run a LONG time, i use to run 3-4 battery packs in a row in a 1-2 hour period and they kept on ticking lol

i always loved tekin, i have used novak and lrp to race competitively, and honestly i always go back to tekin.. The only reason i was running the LRP 7.1 was because EVERYONE at my track was running one, and i felt like a outsider running anything else lol, plus i found it on ebay for $70 new but opened package lol.

Novak has always been really good too, but i kinda stopped using them around the time the cyclones came out, i always thought they were peices of trash, i went to tekin after the cyclones.

I would love to see them... BTW no pressure, I just need to know if you decided on the body, because I sold the front wheels, and jeff just asked me about the arms, and I feel somewhat obligated to let him know either way. Did you think 35 for the pair was a fair offer from him? Anyways, please pm me if you could, I can always pay cash for the body or we can still figure out a trade for the arms, etc. Thanks man :)
