Cut Down Andy's Chassis...?

I have seen pictures of some Andy's chassis with the wings cut down for some reason... maybe sprint cars? I have full Andy's suspension components for my Ascot sprint rebuild and was wondering if this "butchery" was somewhat common. I'm watching for an Andy's wth damaged pods or one that has been cut already to maybe do the same. That way the whole chassis and suspension would match. Pretty cool I think...
