OK, what to do with old associated setting around, waiting for primetime? Consolidate and conquer!

My aging 6 gear, heavily used RC-10. See if we can make a wicked 2WD machine...

Have 2 RC10T's that have been projects for a while; one a planned shelf queen, the other a night racer that I put SC tires on with the SC10RS front spindles.

Looks like I have only 1 straight chassis out of the 3 cars. Seeing as one is going to be a shelf queen and the other truck a customer chassis later looks like I found my chassis!

Body received! Ebay from canada. Thought it was the same mold from Mr. Lexan's but it is not. Windows are smaller, and no indentation on the hood. Also the nose is too short, noticeably short.

Will make the windows a bit bigger, cut through the back molded windows. Like the overspray covering!

Jconcept new front tires on B4 front rims! Will rub a little, but I'll set the steering endpoints to prevent that during use.

Too excited! Had to build the roller! Just hit the chassis with cheap'o black paint, reused the front chassis brace that was modded with a new RPM front bumper.

The original gold chassis was not only bent, but drilled WAY out, and the back brace was cut off. I'll use the left-over RC10 Graphite chassis brace for my future SC project.

New home-made G10 rear shock tower with no cut-outs for ESC mounting. reused all hinges, and recent RPM A-arm upgrades.

Got the body done!
Found some left-over paint from another project, and I love florescent, so this was easy.

Forgot how much easier small buggy bodies are to paint compared to SC bodies

Left a blank spot in the body for our racetracks Trackmate IR transponder system (also it should make it super easy later to read any transponder number on top .

Found my old wing mount! Let's see how many stickers I can find. Ol'school is always about how many stickers you can fit onto the body

The old 6-gear's are going to have to sit this one out, they can't hold gobs of power without sqealing in agony

Took the RPM stealth from one of the trucks, rebuilt it, and dropped it in. Decided to keep the original white color as virgin parts are become an endangered species. Plus, it's easy to spot

Took the white gear off for the shelf queen, replaced with a new kimbrough 81 tooth spur. Gotta find a cheap T3/B3 to rob the top shaft out of the the bigger slipper assembly...

Motor time!

4.5 turn Novak with GTB. 21/81 gear ratio. Gonna have to tune it WAY down

Needs more stickers....

Got creative with old T3 stickers, wanted some florescent flash like the later worlds cars.

Rebuilding this I wanted to assure the chassis wouldn't tweak on me as others have. Played around with some upper supports from an SC10 4X4 as well as this forum for ideas; all were too cumbersome or didn't have the real estate. Also, wanted to give enough room for modern batteries to fit in the vehicle.

The solution? fire resistant fabricated G10 chassis supports from front braces to rear bulkhead (Thanks McMaster Carr!). One of my rear bulkheads was severely damage in the battery area, so it was dremeled out, as well as cutting off about 1/8" of plastic from it's width to run the rails sandwiched between the chassis and bulkhead. The rails will be on the inside of the front rails to keep the same width measurement from front to back.

No more battery buckets! The downside? Had to get creative with Servo mounting...

Ended up going with a low profile servo to fix the problem of clearance instead of hacking up one of my mounts for clearance.

Everything just clears!!

The battery area will now take a full size Li-Po battery (except those oversized turnigy's) and has the ROAR length, can fit the shorty packs with spacer against the steering servo.

Finished the Body! Think I've got enough decals now, looks just right.

Put wing extentions on as the original image I was trying to moch seem to have a molded wing, which gave a cool look where it hung a little low.

Transponder sticks out perfectly, ans should work great as long as I go under the transponder loop on my wheels

running Novak ESC system with traxxas TQi reciever. using my iphone brought throttle to 40% around the house with the overpowered 4.5 turn, and steering was limited 40% in both directions for prevent rim rub.

Yes, I love traxxas connectors, no shrink wrap to pop off as it ages

Also decided to ditch the front body mount after messing around with it. Ended up using Scotch fastening tape on the front of the chassis and body (same tape provided in the Pro-line Carnage body for the slash)

should make it much easier to upgrade the steering system later when I find a worlds or A&E system to drop in. That's my last big problem; bellcranks. I'm almost tempted to start trying out modern day system to see if I can get something to work....

yup, SS mirage in the mold leftovers as I was cutting it . Live and learn.

Turbo Mirage is now on my shopping list...
