quick thank you...
to everyone keeping this board up, it helped me a ton getting back into the hobby. pretty much the same story as most others. got a rc10T new back in 92. never had the money to really go racing at my local track. good batteries and a good motor always seemed like more money than I had. truck got put aside till a month or 2 ago. I ended up moving to a different state for a job, another co worker used to race and still had his b3. so we got them back running and started watching YouTube videos of these crazy fast brushless motors.
I now have the truck I would have loved to have back in 92. more power then I need and run times for days. now if I can just keep the tires on it and get over to the local dirt truck on the other side of the river.
quick video link cause I was bored and had a gopro handy. doesn't look fast but it is.

Re: quick thank you...
lame.. I will check settings.
how about this one? it's looking backwards to see what the rear tires were doing. spinning one more than the other. had to adjust the springs a bit to help.

something happen during that first video upload. it didn't take the name or discretion. must have defaulted to private and the name the gopro used. I'll redo it.

Re: quick thank you...
glad it's working now. and yeah the tires are shot. the fronts are bald from being on the back when I was a kid running it around the streets. I then swapped them around and the new motor has killed them in just a little bit of running. well my lack of throttle control has haha. but I have some more on order that may or may not fit the old rims. if not, I will have to sort that out. if they do, going to try some anti bolloning ideas to help them live. I already had the punch set down to 2 in the esc.
I have been ordering little things here and there off ebay. kinda fun. but going up to cv axles for the newer wheels seems like a bit much, when a whole T3 roller went for like 60$ and I wouldn't have to worry about breaking this one up.... trade offs lol.

I have had mine running brushless since 2007. I got the mamba maxx when they first came out. 4000mah 2cell lipo. I broke a few parts here and there ,nothing major. Once I got it out in the open to run it I dont really break parts. I went through a few diff gears one time because they were set too loose. I run my center diff alittle on the tight side and the stock slipper is basically all the waty tight. I have multiple spare for alot of the parts. Tower hobbies carries almost all of them

yeah, I made those first runs on a concrete parkinglot that was open and good traction. everything was good, took it to work where I was spinning tires and stuff and the diff didn't like that. got real gritty feeling pretty quickly. but I also built it when I was 16 and never touched it again. so I pulled it apart, cleaned everything and relubed, flipped the diff rings over since that side was still smooth put it all back together and it's been hanging on. it perfect but not getting worse. I already ordered a rebuild kit for it and just waiting to do it when I either have time, or it starts to get bad again and I stop running it till I make time haha.
I will say I love that these old trucks handle all this power without killing diffs. it's pretty amazing given the time frame of the design.

oh and quick question, my buddy's b3 has a nice little hard plastic skid plate on the back, he says came stock. I've looked around net but don't see anything like that for a 10T. anyone know of one?

I learned if the diff action sounds dirty or feels "gritty" , as long as it is tight enough it wont blow. If it is just slightly too loose the brushless has enough power to spin the diff gear without turning the outdrives. If this type of slippage occurs it will heat up the gear and melt the center ,where the ball bearings ride, and break it. Other than that it's all GO for brushless !

Re: quick thank you...
There are guys here that know a lot more about the b3 than I do, but as far as I know no Associated car ever came stock with a skid plate on the back. Off the top of my head I can't even think of an aftermarket skid for the rear. There were bumper/skids made for the front. RPM comes to mind.jsomething wrote:oh and quick question, my buddy's b3 has a nice little hard plastic skid plate on the back, he says came stock. Re: quick thank you...
RPM made a rear bumper for the B3/T3, I wouldn't call it a skid plate though. If you want something to protect the underside of the 10T you could grab a lexan undertray off the bay.

i'm totally 2nd guessing the sideways mounting of the battery. not because of the handling, but i should have just found a battery that fit as is. but something to change later.
