Buggy Front Wheels Alternatives

Hi!

I have gone through my 3rd set of front wheels on my edinger RC10 - due mostly to the fact my son has picked up the hobby and the racing gets a little "bumpy". Has anyone tried to move to a different set of front wheels that are more sturdy? Mine always break and crack in the 3-mag area.

I found these on ebay and I like that they are wide because I get so much oversteer - they are for b4.1 (Team Associated RC10 B4.1 9039 Front 2.2" White Dish Wheels ProLine 4 Rib Tires). Will they work? Any other recommendations?

TIA,
Lloyd

Many many many many threads on wheels and tires. Search will get you a large amount of info. Jc racing in the uk is a good choice.

I always search before I post (though I may not be very good at it) - I just spent another 30 minutes searching and reading and I'm just not finding the details I'm looking for. Like if the bearings on b4.1 fit the same as the original edinger wheels I have and if the actual wheel width with the bearings in will be the same from the original wheels to the b4.1, if the diameter of the whole wheel/tire is the same, etc.

Thanks anyway - I may just buy and pray.

JC Racing wheels out of the UK work great and are a perfect fit. Also allow you to run modern tires. When purchasing you actually are getting the fronts and the backs. It isn't very clear on the website.

Those 5 spokes look great (and 18 and a half for all 4 wheels is a good price) and I see them on other threads here (http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=27817&hilit=JC+Racing+wheels)

Do the original tires (front and back) fit on them? I'm not concerned if the tire bulges slightly wider than the wheel or anything like that like I've read from others.

They fit 2.2 tires, ie, readily available. Most front wheels will be 5/16 flanged or 3/8 unflanged, with 3/16 axle size. Avid sells bearings for a buck each so whatever fits is cheap to get the right bearings.

+1 for the JC Racing wheels. Just got hem myslef a few weeks ago. I'm pretty impressed. Exact fit with the rc10 and they look great. Got a pair of white ones and black ones. I personally like the black ones better. The white ones are much brighter than the rest of the nylon on my car.

In was at my LHS today and he informed me they have 12hex front buggy tires . I'm thinking about a set or trying to see if they let me test fit some rubber on my beadlocs without an insert, that is if i find tires that fit..

If I understand correctly the B2 front wheels have the correct back spacing to run on the older cars. If that is the case you can still get front one piece black 2.2 wheels for the B2 directly from AE's website for $4.
