Dynastorm

Post by naushad »

Like the Top Force I presented earlier, I bought this kit ages ago and just left it in sitting in it's box.

However, I want to run these beauties soon so bust out some old electrics and did a bit of an install.

Enjoy.

Here are the electrics. All needed a bit of a clean up really! I didn't go for the Tamiya CPR unit as I've heard it's crap.

Had an older Acoms servo in there...not really race pedigree stuff so replaced!

A few soldering points needed and then Im done.

One of my favorites. I've always liked the body on this car. Ponycar design (long hood, short deck) with all the requisite bulges.

Love it, but then I'm biased seeing as I'm working on one right now. Got all my ducks in a row now Naushad so i can get to where you are, shame you dont live closer for some race action!

the Dynastorm is THE most beautiful 2wd buggy ever released :) Just sitting on the shelf, it looks FAST!

Interesting (but non-period-correct speedo) choice of electronics!

Will you race her or just cruise around? I've always wondered how the car would fetch against modern buggies... I have a nib one and one that I bought to run it, but it's so nice and I'm so worried of breaking it that I chicken out every time

Like to take her out on a track for cruising mainly. Not for racing!

Yeah, I just went for vintage electrics but not necessarily period correct.

I think it's a good setup for the 2wd.

The Dyna was released in 93 I think, I 92 they had the TRF211X doing its teething...

Novak HPC would have been the shiznit then :) Servo is more or less 100% correct, and top of the range. The RX looks like the M8's (with the new blue z-connectors), so it means like 98-ish, but I could be wrong :)

Nice setup no matter what!

I really like keyence...I have a few of their ESCs.

Dynastorm first "kicked up a storm" (I just love using those Tamiya nonsensicals!) in 92

I think a Sanwa Vortex may have been a top ESC for the time...don't exactly know.

The KO FET is about period correct. I know that.

The Sanwa FM isn't period correct. Came much later but don't know precisely when.

And the Keyence 2002! Pretty obvious from the pic!
