can someone tell me where I can get bearings for the T2 trans without spending 17.99 for one set? someone told me about a place that sold them for a buck a bearing. I can't seem to find it on the net.

Also temple, if you read this you once posted to a t2 tranny question saying to upgrade to a T4 slipper, do you know if the trans will fit easily into a t2 or is there a lot of mods that need to be done.

You're just changing that topshaft and everything attached to it, no worries about anything else except the gear cover. The [discontinued] RPM gear cover has enough room for the slightly longer shaft. I have a well used RPM gear cover if you need.

substitute an 87T spur for the 81T listed in DV8ion's list below:

so then just change the internal parts?? I have a t2 case but now insides or bearings. maybe I should just buy a whole t4 trans and go from there??

Yeah T4/B4 trans uses the same diff assembly as the T2 so that would work too. The idler is different but that's only a $2 part.

If you have just the cases you'll also need:

Also you'll need the internal bearings (or bushings) for the outdrives they're 5/32x5/16. Bushings are fine in that position:

Topshaft and idler bearings (x4) are 3/16x3/8 (same as the front and rear wheel bearings), the outdrive big bearings are 3/8x5/8 (x2).

Don't forget the black grease and Stealth diff lube. You did download the manual (or have the original), right?

If you have a decent LHS they should be able to get all these by AE part number without you having to pay shipping from Tower...I'd think. Most LHS deal with Great Planes (Tower) or Horizon as a supplier.

yes I did download it. That is how I got the part numbers the first time around. I was just trying to make life easier and buy the whole thing. figured it might be cheaper. Thanks for the list though. I can keep it in the computer instead of on a paper I have.
