Picked this up yesterday. I was actually looking for a tub car when I ran across this on Craigslist. I thought that it deserved to be rescued by someone who actually knew what it was and had some appreciation for it. Much to my suprise its actually in pretty good shape. I'm planning on at least getting it cleaned up and get the electronics out of it and see what I really have.

Sorry about the crappy pictures...was in a little bit of a hurry last night when I took them. Digging through the box there is another complete 6 gear tranny with a blue litesink (which is a little hacked up but not too bad).

The guy assured me that this was all "state of the art" stuff that I was getting! I had to laugh as it was sitting on the bench next to my Putnam Apex Terminator and M11X! LOL!

Ok, so I had a few spare minutes to dig into this thing a little more:

I took off all of the tires, excess bumpers, nerf wings & body mounts.

Then I got a battery and some alligator clips to test the radio & electronics that came in this thing. Everything seemed to work:
-2nd generation Futaba Magnum Jr. (I don't see an antenna though).
-The biggest Futaba receiver I've ever seen This was mounted on a crude tray connected to the real bulkhead over the battery cup.
-Tekin Formula 10, which I know nothing about, but is also huge (and was stuck to the chassis with a cruel combo of servo tape & shoe-goo.
-Futaba S132H servo
-Trinity Monster Horsepower stock motor, which is in pretty decent shape.

Here's some more pics. I guess I need to get these loaded to photobucket or something so I can get some better resolution pics on here...had to dumb these down quite a bit to get them to load. I'm slow when it comes to stuff like this (race stuff always comes first, and always seems to take up way too much time), but I will get her cleaned up eventually!

Looks good. You should talk to the seller again and see if he also has the TQ10 chassis that that motor plate came off of.

Haha! You're not the 1st one to point that out. Being a Losi guy back in the day, this is actually my 1st 6-gear tranny (although I have had them apart before for others). I actually didn't realize that the 6-gear & Stealth plates were different...aren't they the same part numbers? Maybe it was a running change, or maybe I'm just imagining it!?

I'm pretty sure they guy I bought this from was not the original owner and really didn't know much about the car. He said he just ran it around in the yard and never raced it, although there were a bunch of wooden nickles from the local track in the box of parts he gave me (which he probably got when he bought it). In the ad he actually said it was an A&L car...

running change. the only difference is the addition of another mounting hole.

I noticed that my car has holes for standard rear arm mounts. Looking at some of the other threads, it appears that some have these holes and some don't. Mine do not appear to be non-factory, but you never know. Did some of these chassis have the holes, and some not?

The chassis came both ways but I think the earlier ones didn't have the a-arm mount holes. Your chassis also appears to be cut differently than most Houge chassis at the front. The typical Houge chassis doesn't stay narrow behind the bellcrank holes....the chassis starts to widen to the sides. Why Houge chassis are so annoying to find bodies for.

I have a chassis that's cut similar to yours but it also has saddle style battery slots cut out of it that I don't believe were "from the factory"....so I can't say whether or not the narrow front was something done by the previous owner just to get bodies to fit better.

If you check out the 1987 off-raod nationals article in the Scans forum, Don Jones raced a trailing arms car built by Jim Dieter which I believe was a Houge car and had a chassis cut like yours.

I thought the shocks were mounted on the backside?
