Finally got to run my Royal Ripper today for the first time today. Man is it a goofy car! I guess Iits because I've never driven a 4ws buggy before. It was pretty fun though. I only ran it for about 5 minutes because I was afraid of breaking it.

They had a headless driver figure hiding underneath that rear shock. That's too funny

It looks like you got equal steering throw on the front and back. Probably would be best to reduce that a bit on the rear, but doesn't look practical. Maybe increase the throw on the front by putting the steering link in hole closer to the axle.

I had a royal crusher years ago (was my 2nd car) and I had a blast running it. I started upgrading my cars are decided to sell all of the plastic ones. Back then, I though having 2 cars was plenty.

After several years, I was able to get a royal crusher (still restoring it) and a new ripper. The previous owner broke the shock mount (red parts) and decided to put away for 20 years.

Even back then, I had to dial out some of the rear steering just to keep it going in a stright line. You can do this on the knuckles and on the servo horn. I was lucky that I never broke any parts, but it looks like the weak spot is where the rear gearbox attaches to the chassis. When I finish my Crusher, I'll be fabricating a piece that connects the chassis to the rear gearbox...similar to the chassis protector on the supershot.

BTW...your car looks great!! Do you have the front bumper and skid plate for it? If no, you may be able to use one from the hotshot.

Looking at your picture again, it looks like you have the rear dialed out as much as possible on the rear knuckles. But you can still move the rear link on the servo horn (anf the red plastic at the rear).
