The Lanz Bulldog is an amazing machine. It’s 1-cylinder motor was designed to run on low-grade waste oil from farms. You start it by hanging a lantern on the front to heat up the head enough to cause the fuel to ignite when compressed. They could be used as towncars or workhorse tractors. They’re damn near invincible. Fortunately they are dearly loved and there are lots of examples, all beautiful, as a quick search will discover.

something i always thought of doing..Bicycle adapted for rail use, Bourbon County, Kansas
An informal portrait of a woman with a baby in a carriage, and a man on a bicycle that has been uniquely adapted for rail use in Bourbon County, Kansas. The bicycle attachment may be the one manufactured by the C. A. Coey Co. of Chicago, Illinois, and frequently advertised in railroad magazines at that time as a way to avoid the dirt and mud of unpaved roads and streets.
Date: Between 1900 and 1919

Cool concept. I think what's most innovative about it is that there is very little risk of tipping. Unlike a tracked tank it just slides to the side. It wouldn't feel awkward at wedding receptions when The Electric Slide comes on either... you know... the way that regular tanks do.

Wish I had that cab and bed! Pretty sweet... MAJOR ground clearance with the gear reduction boxes on the axles! :D
