The Gremlin... (another RC12E...)

This one showed up finally... reeking of mouse urine. :x I've got it disassembled and soaking in disinfectant, it wasn't worth taking pictures in it's "before" mode, better to get it clean first. I just wanted to get the thread started. I doubt it will become a "problem solver" car for my 12E Weightsaver, but it appears that it will make a decent middle of the production run 12E, like I needed it... :? At least I have a few better pieces to make it nice, and what's left is going to be a very special project. Ya gotta do something with all the leftovers... The only real redeeming features are the S26 servos and FP2RF receiver on 27mhz, even though the case is sort of melted where it was up against the resistor... :( Oh, and a fairly nice diff axle.

Whoopee...

I'll probably offer it up once it's all back together and looking good if anyone has any interest. It will be presentable and rodent urine free, I promise. 8)

So, here's what you get when you buy a halfway decent 12e and also have some leftovers from the junk box... The car on the left is largely based on the ebay Gremlin at the top of the post, I replaced the radio tray with a nice used fiberglass version and replaced the rear bearing carriers with better used ones. I got to play with my "Z" bend tool to make some new steering linkage (hint: the Dubro one isn't that good... ) The wheels and tires are from the "dirtier than the dirty girl" car, "capped" with bicycle innertube... 8) Hey, they were never run just rotten foams...

The second car...I shall call him Major Drag... is truly a junkyard mongrel. Homemade chassis, hacked 12L front arms, 12i steering blocks, mystery servo saver, seriously narrowed AJ's front and "never seen a truer" rear tires, well used radio tray from the Gremlin... plus I just had to throw an old Midnight motor in there. I'm still putting together an electrics package for it...probably some S148 servos and just a microswitch for the throttle... It could also be a nice oval bomber car, I've got regular width front wheels with matching "Testors Orange" rims... not to mention the front track width is "adjustable"...

Sad when it comes down to this kind of thing for amusement... It's nice the 1/12th cars are not made from too many parts.

It got parted out, the body is just sitting around. That was a while ago...

The chassis plate and body are laying around, I've put together a few other 12E's using some of those parts since then, none worth posting, but nicer than what that gremlin project was.

For some one like me it would be. I have always ran associated untill the tc3 back in o2 then I hated them for a while lol. So if you was willing to part with the gremlin bod and possibly a roller to go under what would you charge?
