Shelf queen or not?

I picked this up just recently. Did not expect the guy to accept my price, but here it is. It was an impulse buy for certain.
CE version with an 'A' stamped chassis.
With: Novak Mercury receiver, HPI Racing ESC, Futaba servo, original AE competition motor.
The chassis is not absolutely perfect or pristine as it does look like it was run back in the day, but I would say that it is in excellent condition.
What do you guys think? Shelf or runner? If a runner, it would not be with these electronics of course.
Just out of curiosity, what would be the average value of the vintage electronics here? I am not looking to selling them, just curious based on what the experts here think.

That is truly what I had intended to do once I committed to it, but wanted to ask you guys first to make sure that I was not missing anything.
Thanks for the feedback.

I say shelf queen. There are plenty of runner-quality cars out there, and they are a dime a dozen . In my opinion a car this nice should be preserved.

I predict a spare hole in the transmission area

If the tub is unscratched then take all the dyed nylon parts off it and build a more interesting shelfer out of it like a rare hop-up car or a replica. Black dyed stock CE parts aren't really shelf worthy but a gold tub in good shape is.

The tub is not pristine where there are no scratches on it. There are a few here and there, but for the most part is in excellent shape. If it were like brand spanking new and fresh, than my decision might be a little easier.
I appreciate all of the feedback.

Are the parts dyed? I thought they looked like original black parts.

Yep, that is what I have figured as well.
