I picked this up last week from a local collector, the more I looked at it the more I liked it so it followed me home :D Id never even seen a Schumacher before

Now I did do some reading and the LWB should measure about 281mm this one comes in at 267mm does this make it a SWB ??

I know it has AE shocks and needs a front tower and tires.

Can anyone lead some assitance to a new Schumacher owner

The wheelbase suggests it's an original SWB CAT, although it does have the widening kit and chrome wheels from the XLS. Shocks look like Kyosho.

Nice and congrats on your first Schuey Cat.
Would the shocks belong to a traxxas bullet by chance?

I cant see how they cant be AE gold with white hardware. They look exaclty like the ones on my Associated. I have a Radicator here and the gold is lighter

Nice lookin cat. I try to stay outta this section so one of these don't follow me home

The shocks do look traxxas with the rounded shoulder on the edge of the hexes. I have a set here on an all original bullet that are actually darker than most of my gold associated shocks and the white hardware is interchangeable but either way its a nice base for a great buggy :D

The shock collars match my bullet to a "T". I agree, likely traxxas. That's not a bad thing! Pop off a cap, if it has an o-ring it's associated, a bladder means traxxas

well they must be traxxas then. anyone need 3 ??

I have a set of 4 AE gold here that I might remove gold and polish. might be easier than finding 1 short bullet shock

I may change my ways on this car and wait till I have all the parts needed before I strip it down

SWB with lots of mods. I'm curious to know why it is someone would not have gone the LWB route with this old racer. The shorter car was well known to be a handful out on the track. The saddle pack chassis was not a standard item so the driver would have been good to steer this machine around.

Whilst I like all Schuey Cats the earlier models look pretty awesome in action, especially the XLS with its wide stance and chrome rims.
Real history with these models.

So its a SWb with a non-standard chassis plate with saddle arrangement??

Yes, upper deck original, lower optional (never black or saddle pack on the swb), in addition the spur, antenna mount, wing mount, the above mentioned and the wheels were black (same dish). Thats at least a start... Very sveet cat!
