Brushless motor, reverse ?
Brushless motor, reverse ?
Okay just hooked up my castle 4600KV and Sidewinder 2 in my vintage RC10 the motor runs in reverse, when i pull the trottle so I initially just reversed the channel on the Flysky controller but also read that you can just switch two of the motor wires. I put the channel back to normal and did this but I swear the motor runs faster backward so I did the wire switch back to the normal position and reversed the channel. I now swear it goes faster forward than in reverse. Is reversing the channel a bad thing to do instead of switcing the wires?

Re: Brushless motor, reverse ?
It doesn't really matter but depending on your ESC settings, that will determine the speed in either forward or reverse.
And with a sensorless motor like the Castle, you can swap any 2 of the 3 motor wires to make it go forward when your ESC is set to normal.

I had to do this since I had the same situation with a recent 1/8 scale acquistionRC104ever wrote:And with a sensorless motor like the Castle, you can swap any 2 of the 3 motor wires to make it go forward when your ESC is set to normal.

Had this happen with a Castle as well. Just switched wires and no problems, although since the wires are colored, it just looks like its wired wrong now.

Re: Brushless motor, reverse ?
What everyone else already said. The ESC and sometimes motor instructions almost always say to switch 2 wires to reverse motor direction.
